Sugar news from Russia and Kazakhstan, May 5, 2015

According to the Ministry of Agriculture report, sugar beet in Russia was planted on an area of 714,000 hectares as of April 30, 2015 or 72.8% of the forecast (in 2014 - 709,300 hectares planted).


According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated May 5, 2015; total 13 vessels have been nominated to carry 446450 mt of raw cane sugar in 2015 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 317350 mt from 9 vessels, based on data.



According to the national Statistics Agency, Kazakhstan consumer sugar prices have decreased by 2% in April 2015; from the beginning of the year the decline of consumer sugar prices has made 8.6%.


In Zhualynsky region of Kazakhstan more than ten farms planned to allocate 300 hectares for sugar beet manufacture in current sowing season; the crop was not grown here for five years.
