RUSSIA

According to the monitoring data of the Ministry of Agriculture, as of May 11 2015, the Russian Federation has processed 305,900 tons of raw sugar and has produced 299,800 tons of refined sugar (by 15.1% less than in 2014). Volume of raw sugar imported in January-May 2015 (as of May 10) is 10% less than in 2014. For the week of May 11 to 18, the wholesale price of sugar has increased by 0.3%, the retail price has decreased by 0.4%.

UKRAINE

Ukraine has almost completed sugar beet sowing campaign. By May 15, the country has planted 237 thousand hectares with sugar beet, or 100% of the forecast (in 2014 season by the same date – 325 000 hectares), the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food has informed.

BELARUS

According to the National Statistics Committee, sugar production in the country amounted to 44,900 tons in April 2015, which is 5.3 times more compared to March, and by 35.3% lower than in April 2014. The industrial sugar production in the Republic of Belarus has totaled 130,500 tons in January-April 2015, down by 30.1% compared to volume produced in the same period in 2014.
