The Arbitration Court of the Saratov Region, at the suit of the Cinco Trade company, imposed interim measures on cash, as well as on the movable and immovable property of the main owner of Rusagro Vadim Moshkovich, the former general director of the company Maxim Basov, as well as on the property of the holding for total value of RUR 21.9 billion. According to Rusagro, the court was misled, the amount of the plaintiff's claims is ten times less than the values arrested.

According to Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 5 dated January 14, 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation must develop and approve the procedure for confirming the intended purpose of white sugar imported into the Russian Federation, classified by the code 1701 99 100 TN VED EAEU and intended exclusively for sale on the domestic market or for the production of sugar-containing products, and raw cane sugar subheadings 1701 13 and 1701 14 TN VED EAEU intended for industrial processing.

In order to ensure the required level of domestic production of white sugar, it is necessary to reach the level of sugar beet crops of 17,000 hectares, the Minister of Agriculture Askarbek Dzhanybekov explained. According to the official, at the end of 2021, the crop acreage amounted to 10,000 hectares, which is 310,000 tons of sugar beets, and 45,000 tons of white sugar produced out of it. It is recommended to increase the sown area for sugar beet to 14 thousand hectares in 2022.
