RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, according to the SM PB, the price for white beet sugar from industrial sugar producers was 45.85 rubles/kg as of December 12, 2022, (+0.6% for the week).

According to preliminary data from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Penza Region, three factories have produced 378 thousand tons of sugar in 2021 season, which is an absolute record in the history of the Penza Region.
BELARUS
According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, consumer prices for granulated sugar in the country decreased by 0.11% in December 2021 (vs. the previous month), and by 0.67% since the beginning of the year (by December 2020). The average consumer price for refined sugar was 1.70 bel. rub/kg in December (RUR 49.54/kg at the average exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation for December 2021).

Starting from January 17, 2022 pensioners, the disabled, members of large families and low-income citizens will be able to get socially important goods, incl. sugar, in grocery stores at 10 percent discount. This service will be provided under an agreement that was signed on January 12, 2022 between the country's 16 largest retail chains and the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade.
