RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of September 30, 2021, sugar beets were harvested from 328.7 thousand hectares, 12.2 million tons collected.

In Bashkiria, 17.8 thousand hectares of sugar beets were harvested (49% of total regional crop acreage). By October 1, the gross harvest of beets has reached 428.3 thousand tons, with an average yield of 23.95 MT/ha. By the beginning of October, more than 190 thousand tons of beets were delivered to the sugar factories of the region.

As of September 30, over 25 thousand hectares of beet (28% of the total beet acreage in the Kursk region) were harvested. About 932 thousand tons of sugar beet collected with an average yield of 36.4 MT/ha. According to the committee of the agro-industrial complex of the Kursk region, the sugar enterprises received 689.3 thousand tons of beets with a sugar content of 17.86%. Total volume of beet processed has made 565 thousand tons, over 78.4 thousand tons of sugar produced.

Lipetsk farmers have harvested the first million tons of sugar beets. According to the Regional Department of Agriculture, beets were harvested from 30.7 thousand hectares, and nearly 110 thousand tons of hectares remain to be harvested.

All four sugar factories in the Oryol region have started processing beets.

UKRAINE

Agrarians in 14 (out of 18) beet-growing regions have started harvesting sugar beets. As of October 1, 2021, the acreage harvested made 47.2 thousand hectares (21% of total beet acreage in Ukraine), 2 million 262 thousand tonsof beet collected; average field yield makes 47.96 MT/ha,
