RUSSIA

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved the Resolution on the extension of the agreement on the stabilization of prices for granulated sugar until June 1, 2021, for sunflower oil - until October 1, 2021, the press service of the Government reports.

Farmers in the Kursk region plan to increase the sugar beet sowing acreage by 7% compared to 2020 season, thus the total sugar beet acreage is anticipated to reach 92 thousand hectares.

In 2021, sugar beet crops will grow in the Oryol region at 47.5 thousand hectares (+2.3 thousand hectares from previous year of 2020), said the head of the Department of Agriculture of the region, Alexander Shalimov.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft resolution on the provision of subsidies to sugar producers. Subsidies for white sugar producers will be provided at the rate of 5 rubles per 1 kg of sugar produced and supplied to retail trade enterprises of their own production at a price not exceeding 36 rubles per 1 kg. The deadline for granting subsidies is from April 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021.

On March 29, 2021, 5 sugar contracts were sold at NTB and BSP. The total volume of sales has made 680 MT at the average price of RUR 45200/MT (US$596,64/MT at the exchange rate of CBR on date indicated). Trading session closed at $603.24/MT (CFO).

UKRAINE

Ukrainian agrarians plan to sow about 223 thousand hectares with sugar beet in 2021 season, according to the Information and analytical portal of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine.

KAZAKHSTAN

It is planned to grow sugar beet at 21.8 thousand hectares this year, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
