RUSSIA
“Rusagro” has completed harvesting crops. The gross harvest of sugar beet amounted to 2,859 thousand tons in 2020, which is 1,073 thousand tons (-27%) less than in 2019. The key reason for these results was the drop in yield by 24% due to unfavourable weather conditions – mainly moisture deficit and winds blowing out of some of the crops. At the same time, the rate of digestion increased from 18% to 20% year-on-year.

Russian retail chains have already begun to reduce prices for sunflower oil and sugar as part of an agreement on price stabilization, informed the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.
UKRAINE
NASU "Ukrtsukor" in its report dated December 17, 2020 informs, Ukraine has produced 967.8 thousand tons of sugar and processed 7.29 million tons of sugar beet.
