Over the past few days, Ukrainian enterprises have raised prices by more than 2,000 hryvnia (5392.56 rubles at the current exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation) per ton. Representatives of sugar companies explain the rise in sugar prices by the low quality of sugar beets supplied for processing. As of September 21, wholesale selling prices for sugar in Ukraine amounted to UAH 13,900 / ton, (RUB 37,478.3) EXW (including VAT).

As of September 21, 2020, total 28.0 thousand tons of sugar have been produced and 236.5 thousand tons of sugar beet processed since the beginning of the season. Nine sugar factories are operating.
