Trio and Sucden have endorsed legally binding documents on the consolidation of a 100% stake in the capital of LLC Agroservice. This company owns a sugar business and beet sugar assets based on the Yelets Sugar Plant. Now it will completely become the property of Sucden.

In 2020 season the sugar beet acreage in Mordovia will make 22.4 thousand ha (last year the acreage was very similar – 22.0 thousand ha).

Sowing of sugar beets starts in the Stavropol region. In 2020 the crop is planned occupy an area of more than 30 thousand hectares (in 2019 - 34.9 thousand hectares), the press service of the regional government reports.

Starting from March 23, 2020, the territorial bodies of the FAS Russia will intensify efforts to identify unreasonable price increases for socially significant products and goods, including sugar.
UKRAINE
Ukrainian farmers may reduce sugar beet acreage to 209.5 thousand ha in 2020, the Ministry of Economy reports. In 2019, sugar beet production in Ukraine amounted to 10.15 million tons, which is 27.3% less than in 2018. In 2019, farmers harvested 221.2 thousand hectares of sugar beet.
