MOLDOVA

Record sugar stocks have piled up in warehouses in Moldova, and an uncontrolled flow of imported sugar and the loss of CIS markets have turned out to be a severe blow to the sugar industry, local sugar producers say. According to the statement, they incur gigantic losses, as the quotas allocated to Moldova under the Association Agreement with the European Union and the DCFTA free trade agreement are not enough, and export to the CIS markets has practically ceased due to political reasons.
