RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of September 28, 2018, sugar beet was harvested from the area of 489.4 thousand hectares or 44.1% of the crop acreage (in 2017 - 491.2 thousand hectares). Bulk harvest makes 17.0 million tons (in 2017, 20.6 million tons), average yield – 34.69 MT / hectare (in 2017 – 41.98 MT / ha).

According to the railway monitoring data by Sugar.Ru, in January - September 2018 Russia imported 175,293 MT of sugar. The largest exporting countries to Russia were Belarus (95.59%) and Lithuania (3.98%). Russian exports amounted to 266 767 MT, the main countries - receivers of sugar were Kazakhstan (46.87%) and Uzbekistan (41.39%).

Domestic shipments amounted to 1 058 282 MT, the largest volume of shipments was made by Cheremovsky (5.29%) and Kirsanovsky (Kristall) (4.30%) sugar plants. The total transit of sugar by rail through the territory of Russia has made 368 046 MT.

The duty on import of raw sugar to the Customs Union remains at $ 250/MT in October 2018. The average monthly price for raw sugar at the ICE stock exchange was $ 238,52/MT in September 2018, respectively, the import duty in November 2018 will remain at the level $250/MT.

UKRAINE

As of September 28, total 52 thousand hectares (16%) of sugar beets were harvested with 2.5 million tons collected at an average yield of 48.2 MT / ha, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

KYRGYZSTAN

The government will control the pricing of sugar at all stages of its production starting from the purchase of sugar beet. Measures for such monitoring should be developed by the Ministry of Agriculture, the prime minister said.

AZERBAIJAN, UZBEKISTAN
