In 2018, agrarians of Bashkortostan plan to cut sugar beet crops by 4.1 thousand hectares to make total 48.7 thousand hectares (in 2017 – 52.8 thousand hectares), the republican ministry of agriculture reports.

According to Soyuzrossahar, a total of 6.46 million tons of sugar was produced in 2017/18 in the Russian Federation (+6.18% compared to the previous season). On April 10, 158.7 thousand hectares (13.8% of the forecast) of sugar beet was sown in Russia (in 2017 - 284.0 thousand hectares).

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, by April 10, 2018, total 151.1 thousand hectares of sugar beet were sown or 13.8% to the forecast (in 2017 - 284.0 thousand hectares).


According to the analysis of customs declarations of FCS conducted by, and upon the results of 2 months of beet pulp import campaign, Russia has shipped in none.

In February 2018 Russia has exported 270.8 thousand tons of beet pulp. According to the results of 2 months of beet pulp export campaign, Russia has shipped out 270.8 thousand tons (in 2017 - 151.1 thousand MT; in 2016 - 147.2 thousand MT).In the period January - February 2018, the main countries importers of beet pulp from Russia were LATVIA (32.00%) and NETHERLANDS (26.58%).


In 2018 season Cygnet Agrocompany plans to invest about $ 0.7 million in the reconstruction of the Andrushevsky sugar refinery, as a result of which the production capacity on beet sugar will grow to reach 2750 tons per day.

The sowing campaign in the agroholding "Astarta" was launched on April 11, the company's press service reported.


According to Statkom, consumer prices for granulated sugar fell by 0.5% in March 2018, and in annual terms (by March 2017) - by 2.0%.


The ECE Collegium agreed on the extension of the state regulation of the price of white sugar (maximum minimum prices and the level of marginal trade mark-up) in the country for 90 days - until July 15 of this year.
