RUSSIA

According to the provisional figures by the management of the agro-industry, the acreage for sowing sugar beet in Russia in 2018 is projected to make 1,095.4 thousand hectares, which is 103.1 thousand ha less than in 2017 (1,198.5 thousand hectares), reports the Ministry of Agriculture.

Three sugar plants in Lipetsk region continue to process sugar beet: in Lebedyan, Yelets and in the district center of Gryazi. Since the beginning of the season over 5.6 million tons of sugar beet, including those brought from neighboring regions, have been processed with 763.9 thousand tons of sugar produced.

GEORGIA

According to the analysis of data by the National Statistics Office of Georgia, conducted by Sugar.Ru, in December 2017 the import of sugar (HS code 1701) has made value of $5.2 million ($4.9 million in 2016). Total sugar imports of Georgia in January - December 2017 have made value of $67.6 million ($65.5 million in 2016).

Export of sugar in January - December 2017 has made $0.0 , total for 12 months 2017 - $3.9 million (in 2016 - $3.6 million)

ARMENIA

In December 2017 Armenia imported 2.983 tons of sugar and raw sugar (HS Code of Economic Activity 1701) for total value of $ 1390.57 thousand; 48 tons of other sugars (HS Code 1702) for total value of $ 36 thousand and 19.44 tons of molasses (HS Code 1703) for total value of $ 3.74 thousand, according to the National Statistics Committee.
