RUSSIA

According to the analysis of customs declarations of FCS, in October 2017 Russia has imported 21.1 thousand tons of white sugar. According to the results of 10 months of white sugar import campaign, Russia has shipped in 220.5 thousand tons (in 2016 - 242.5 thousand MT; in 2015 - 284.6 thousand MT).

In the period January - October 2017, the main countries exporters of white sugar to Russia were Belarus (83.53%) and Poland (9.78%).

In October 2017 Russia has exported 337.4 thousand tons of white sugar. According to the results of 10 months of white sugar export campaign, Russia has shipped out 337.4 thousand tons (in 2016 - 38.4 thousand MT; in 2015 - 6.3 thousand MT).

In the period January - October 2017, the main countries importers of white sugar from Russia were KAZAKHSTAN (29.44%) and AZERBAIJAN (27.30%).

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated December 12, 2017, total 21 vessels have been nominated to carry 737020 MT of raw cane sugar in 2017 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 675020 MT from 19 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

UKRAINE

As of December 11, total 1.81 million tons of sugar were produced out of 12.67 million tons of sugar beet processed, Ukrtsukor reports.

KAZAKHSTAN

In 2017, the acreage of sugar beet has almost doubled and reached 19 thousand hectares. As of December 11, more than 500 thousand tons of beets have been harvested, it is expected that about 50 thousand tons of sugar will be produced, Kazakhstan press reports.

KYRGYZSTAN

According to Statkom, consumer prices for granulated sugar decreased by 0.8% in November 2017, from the beginning of 2017 the prices decreased by 9.4%, and in the annual calculation (by November 2016) - by 12.1%.

BELARUS

Consumer prices for granulated sugar decreased by 1.03% in November 2017 and from the beginning of the year - by 6.38%. The average consumer price for granulated sugar in November was 1.63 Belarusian rubles/kg (47.48 rubles/kg at the current rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation).
