RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of December 5, 2017, sugar beet as in the country was harvested from the area of 1170.1 thousand hectares or 99.5% of the crop acreage (in 2016 - 1.1 million hectares).

According to the monitoring data of Sugar.Ru, Prodimex is the export leader among Russian companies for the current season, with 55.1 thousand tons of white sugar (50% of total exports) exported from company plants in August-November 2017; next is Rusagro - 19.4 thousand tons (18%).
UKRAINE
As of December 5, 12.19 million tons of sugar beet processed and 1.74 million tons of sugar produced, according to Ukrtsukor. According to the association, sugar beet harvesting campaign is completed.

According to the monitoring data of the Sugar. Ru, in 11 months of 201, Ukraine shipped 78.9 thousand tons of white sugar by the Russian railway, 58% of which went to Azerbaijan, 23% - to Tajikistan, 12.5% - to Turkmenistan, the rest – to Uzbekistan and Abkhazia.
