RUSSIA

According to Rosstat, the volume of sugar sale by large and medium wholesale organizations decreased to 109,156.69 tons in July 2017 (- 66.34% against the previous month and - 47.76% from the beginning of the year). The stocks of sugar in wholesale trade decreased to 85,865.21 tons in July 2017 (-23.13% compared to the previous month; +74.59% for 12 months; and -18.05% from the beginning of the year).

According to the Ministry of Agriculture report date August 24, 2017, sugar beet in the country was harvested from an area of 58.8 thousand hectares or 4.9% of the sown area (in 2016 - 56.7 thousand hectares). In Saratov region, the first 100 hectares of sugar beet was harvested with 3,500 tons of beet collected at average yield of 35,0 MT/ha, the Ministry of Agriculture reports. In Voronezh region, the average yield is 31.36 MT/ha, four sugar plants – Elan-Kolenovsky, Kalacheevsky, Liskinsky, Olkhovatsky – have been launched.

KYRGYZSTAN

In 2017 the sugar beet was sown at 17.5 thousand hectares, 109.4% of the forecast and 6.2 thousand hectares more than last year. The modernization of the plants "Koshoi" and "Kaindy-Kant", which is planned for completion by October 1, 2017, is being carried out. According to ex-Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov, after modernization of these two plants, the country will be able to provide itself with its own sugar. Enterprises received preferential loans for a total of $ 15.5 million at a rate of 4% per annum.

UKRAINE

According to Gosstat, 15.5 thousand tons of sugar confectionery was produced in July 2017 (+3.33% compared to the previous month and -9.36% as of July 2016). The production of sugar confectionery products since the beginning of the year amounted to 100.1 thousand tons (in 2016 - 103.7 thousand tons).
