RUSSIA

According to report by "Kubansakharprom" dated July 27, 2017, sugar beet processing was the first to start at the Novokubansky sugar factory in the Krasnodar region; a sugar beet reception station has opened at the Dinskoy plant. A total of 9.3 thousand tons of sugar beet was harvested in the region, including 3.2 thousand tons already processed. The Leningradsky sugar factory started receiving sugar beet on June 28. The opening of sugar-receiving stations at Gulkevichsky, Labinsky, Ust-Labinsky and Tbilissky sugar refineries is scheduled shortly.

Stavropol region has also started harvesting sugar beet, taking advantage of favourable weather conditions. It is planned to collect about 2.4 million tons of beets, the Stavropol Ministry of Agriculture reports.

According to the head of the Agriculture Ministry of the Penza region, the region plans to harvest 2 million tons of sugar beet from 60.3 thousand hectares of crop acreage in 2017 season.

          

UKRAINE

After two years of downtime Sokolovsky sugar factory in the Vinnitsa region will start to juice extraction this autumn. Moyevsky sugar factory, after being idle for the third year, is planned to start operation in 2018.

According to "Ukrtsukor", the average weight of sugar beet is 226 grams on July 20, which is 20% less than last year indicator, the average sucrose content is similar to previous season – 13.3%.

KYRGYZSTAN

Mr. Sooronbay Jeenbekov, the Prime Minister, has demanded from officials to speed up the launch of the sugar beet processing plant "Koshoy" in Chui oblast to catch up with the planned operation date scheduled for October 1 of 2017.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the FCS of Kazakhstan, in 6 months (January-June) of 2017 the import of raw sugar (HS Code 170114) from the countries outside the Customs Union has dropped significantly compared to previous year, and amounted to 75.8 thousand tons (in 2016 - 210.3 thousand tons). The volume was supplied solely by Brazil.
