RUSSIA
Voronezh region has finished sugar beet sowing campaign with 133 thousand hectares sown (106% of the forecast), the regional government reports. Last year, the gross harvest of sugar beet in the Voronezh region amounted to 5.8 million tons, the average yield – 48.2 tons from hectare, which is a record indicator in the history of sugar beet manufacture in the region.
MOLDOVA
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the production of sugar confectionery amounted to 1289.7 tons in March 2017 (+ 11.9% by March 2016).
UKRAINE
In the Volyn region of Ukraine, tax police officers accused a producer of sugar (the company was not named) a claim for non-payment of taxes in the amount of almost 16.3 million hryvnia (about 37.6 million rubles), the local press reports. Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 3 of Art. 212 (evasion from payment of taxes, fees (mandatory payments)) of the Criminal Code.
