RUSSIA

According to the Rusagro report, sales growth in the sugar segment displayed a 57% increase in sales volumes in the first quarter of 2017, compared to the level of 2016; mostly due to the large sugar beet harvest in 2017, and the acquisition of new sugar refineries last year. The volume of sales of by-products has also increased. Proceeds from beet pulp, molasses and betaine in the first quarter of 2017 amounted to 408 million rubles compared to 216 million rubles in the first quarter of 2016. The volume of sugar production amounted to 122,000 tons of beet sugar, 186,000 tons were sold.


KAZAKHSTAN

According to the report by the Bureau of national statistics of Kazakhstan on trade with the countries outside the Customs Union in 4 months (January-April 2017), imports of cane sugar (HS code 170114) amounted to 40.7 thousand tons of Brazilian raw sugar (in 2016 - 103 , 4 thousand tons). Export of white sugar (HS code 170199) made 5034.7 tons, almost all of it going to Tajikistan. Export of other sugars (HS code 1702) - 1073.3 tons (in 2016 - 1510 tons), mainly to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

ARMENIA

Armenia imported 2.55 thousand tons of sugar and raw sugar (HS Code of Economic Activity 1701) for $ 1 480 thousand and 48 tons of other sugars (HS code 1702) for $ 31,000. In April 2017, the National Statistics Committee reported.

UKRAINE

According to Ukrtsukor estimates, the updated forecast for sugar production in 2017/2018 MY is 2.0-2.05 million tons, which is almost at the level of 2.008 million tons last year.
