The Ministry of agriculture reports, sugar beet was seeded at an area of 248 000 hectares by April 10, 2017 (in 2016 – 257 100 ha) or 25% of total acreage planned.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated April 11, 2017, total 5 vessels have been nominated to carry 190400 MT of raw cane sugar in 2017 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 78000 MT from 2 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.
UKRAINE
Agropromholding "Astarta" does not plan to pay dividends for 2016. All appropriations for net profit of total € 82.7 million will be transferred to undistributed profits.

By April 10, an area of 194.4 thousand hectares was seeded with sugar beet in Ukraine, which is 60% of the sugar beet acreage, Ukrtsukor reports. On same day last year, 184 thousand hectares were sown. According to Ukrtsukor’ estimates, the area under sugar beet will grow by at least 12% and as a result will amount to 330-350 thousand hectares.

According to Gosstat, sugar prices from manufacturers increased by 9% in March 2017, compared to the previous month, in year on year terms (March 2017 to March 2016) - by 16.4%. Consumer prices for sugar in March increased by 3.6%, n year on year terms (March 2017 to March 2016) - by 6.2%.
