RUSSIA
In 2016, the production of sugar beet in Stavropol region has increased by 48% - to 2.4 million tons. The total volume of state support for agriculture in the region is planned at total of 6.9 billion rubles in 2017, which is almost 1 billion rubles more than last year, the regional Agriculture Ministry informs.
BELARUS
According to the rail cargo monitoring data by Sugar.Ru for February 2017, Belarus has delivered more than 3 thousand tons of white sugar transit Russia, thus total transit for 2 months of 2017 has made 3.5 thousand tons (in 2016 - 0.6 thousand tons). The main consumer of Belarusian sugar in 2017 was Kazakhstan (47%) and Kyrgyzstan - 29%.
MOLDOVA
In February 2017 the consumer prices for refined sugar have increased by 0.6%, in annual terms (by February 2016) - by 11.9%, according to the National Statistical Committee.
UKRAINE
In January 2017, the average consumer price of sugar by agricultural enterprises was UAH 11589.1 for one ton (25290.61 rubles / ton - at the current rate of the Central Bank of Russia) (without VAT, subsidies, transportation, forwarding and overhead costs). In February 2017 (as compared to January), the consumer sugar prices in the country increased by 3.3%, the National Statistical Committee reports.
According to Ukrtsukor forecasts, 45 sugar plants will operate the next season, by 3 more than in 2016/2017 MY.
UZBEKISTAN
According to the annual report of JV of JSC "Khorazm shahar", in 2016 the amount of profit received exceeded 69.2 billion soums (1.22 billion rubles) compared to 42.2 billion soums (0.74 billion rubles) gained in 2015, “News of Uzbekistan” reports.
