RUSSIA
According to the monitoring of rail shipments by Sugar.Ru, in February 2017 Russia exported 30.5 thousand tons of white sugar. The main recipient of Russian sugar was Kazakhstan (51%). The export to Azerbaijan increased significantly - 8.7 thousand tons, more than the total export to the country last year. Exports to Kyrgyzstan have resumed, after being almost none in 2016. In just 7 months of the 2016/17 season, Russia exported 135.4 thousand tons of white sugar by rail.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated March 7, 2017, total 3 vessels have been nominated to carry 115000 mt of raw cane sugar in 2017 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 42000 mt from 1 vessel, based on Sugar.ru data.

According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia the sowing of sugar beet is projected at an area of 1129.0 thousand hectares in 2017 (+ 1.7% from 2016). As of February 1, 2017, total 0.5 thousand tons of sugar beet seeds were imported from abroad. In 2016, compared to 2015, beet sugar production volume grew by 12.4%, raw sugar imports decreased 2 times, white sugar imports - 1.6 times.
UKRAINE
According to the analysis of the State Statistics Service for January 2017 the total volume of sugar sales amounted to - UAH 774.6 million excl VAT and excise tax (about 1688.5 million rubles at the current rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation). The volume of sugar sold outside the country has made 11% of the total sales volume - UAH 85.2 million (about 186 million rubles).
