RUSSIA
Andrey Burlakov, the Minister of Agriculture of Penza region, has announced that the region drafts to receive 2 million tons of sugar beets. The Minister of Agriculture of Rostov Region Konstantin Rachalovsky says, Rostov region will manufacture 589 000 tons of beet in the coming season.

Consumer prices for sugar decreased by 0.5% from February 21 to February 27 2017; and since the beginning of the year (compared to the end of December 2016) - by 5.5%, according to Rosstat.

According to the data of price monitoring by Sugar.ru for the period from February 16 to March 02, 2017, the US dollar exchange rate increased by 2.9% (on Feb 16 RUR 56.77/$; on Mar 02 – RUR 58.38/$). Ruble Moscow wholesale price of sugar grew by 1.40 rubles/kg (+4.32%), Krasnodar wholesale price increased by 0.80 rubles/kg (+2.58%). US dollar Moscow wholesale price of sugar added US$ 0.008/kg (+1.40%), Krasnodar wholesale price dropped by US$ 0.001/kg (-0.18%).
Completion of the season sugar production has led to a certain stabilization of the market. Beets are processed, sugar storage is ensured, the problem to quickly sell large volumes evaporated. "Rusagro", which was a rule-maker for market games in August-December, took a temporary time-out, and now the market price policy is defined by "Prodimex", and it has tried to raise prices, but eventually stopped at the level of RUR 32/kg, with a trend to go down. Minimum market offers are even lower at RUR 31.8/kg. Given that a number of companies has temporarily suspended sugar sale, it is likely to the prices will continue to reduce as soon as these traders are back to the market.
KAZAKHSTAN
According to the statistic committee, sugar prices from manufacturers fell by 6.2% in February 2017 and by 4.9% from the beginning of the year (vs. December 2016). Consumer prices for sugar decreased by 2.4% in February, and in year on year terms - increased by 4.4% (vs. February 2016).
CUSTOMS UNION
The duty for import of raw sugar to the Customs Union remains at US$ 140/MT in March 2017. The average monthly price for raw sugar at the stock exchange "The ICE" in February was US$ 449.70/MT, thus , in April 2017 the fee will remain at US$ 140/MT.
UKRAINE
Ukraine is among the world's top six exporters of pulp and molasses, claims "Ukrtsukor". Exports of molasses amounted to 59 thousand tons in 2016 and pulp export - 65.3 thousand tons (mostly - the granulated pulp). The main importers of molasses in 2016 were Hungary, the Netherlands and the United States. Leaders of Ukrainian importers of pulp are Poland, Spain, Korea.
