Holding "Agrosila" plans to increase the DC on sugar beet of "Zainsk sugar" from 7 600 tons per day to 8 000 tons in 2017. Gross harvest of beet is expected at 1.2 million tons. "Agrosila" plans to increase the production of sugar to 157 thousand tons in 2017, said Svetlana Barsukov director holding.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated February 28, 2017, total 46 vessels have been nominated to carry 1535050 mt of raw cane sugar in 2016-2017 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 1462050 mt from 44 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

The average price of sugar in supermarkets in Kiev is UAH 20.6 per kilogram (RUR 44.13/kg). This is comparable to the prices in Estonia - UAH 20.9 (RUR 44.78/kg), in Lithuania - UAH 19.8 (RUR 42.42/kg) and in Poland - UAH 19.9 per kilogram (RUR 42.63/kg), the head of the Association of suppliers of retailers Alex Doroshenko informed. Wholesale selling price of sugar rose by 5.07% over the week and was in the range of UAH 15 300-15 800/MT (32 782-33 854 rubles/MT), according to "Agroperspectiva".
