RUSSIA

Shareholders of Meleuzovsky sugar factory approved the decision on the additional issue of shares at the meeting held on February 20. The company intends to issue 1.5 million shares with par value of 10 rubles for total value of 10,990,000 rubles and to increase the authorized capital to RUB 13,190,000. Currently it is equal to 2.2 million rubles.

Moscow Exchange plans to start trading in financial derivatives whose underlying asset is white sugar since March 6, 2017. Participants will be offered both forward and swap contracts.

KAZAKHSTAN

In Sergeevka (North Kazakhstan region) the construction of a sugar plant started with a capacity of up to 10 thousand tons of sugar per year running on own raw materials. The launch of the plant is scheduled for the end of this year, according to the regional administration.

According to the analysis of EAEC data for Kazakhstan for 12 months (January - December) 2016, the volume of sugar imports (HS 1701) has made 32.87 thousand tons in December and annual volume (January - December 2016) has reached 456.39 thousand tons, which is 110.9% over the same period of 2015 (411.47 thousand tons were imported in 2015). Import of molasses (HS 1703) was 152.00 tons in December and 5.46 thousand tons total for January - December 2016 (99.8% compared to 5.47 thousand tons imported in 2015).

UKRAINE

According to the Statistics Service of Ukraine, in January 2017 the country has produced 12.2 thousand tons of sugar confectionery (-12.23% compared to previous month and -4.69% compared to January 2016). Production of sugar confectionery amounted to 12.8 thousand tons in January 2016, in 2015 - 11.3 thousand tons.
