RUSSIA

According to railway statistics by Sugar.Ru for mid-February, the Russian sugar mills have exported 119.3 thousand tons of white sugar by rail in the 2016/17 season. The leader of exports is Prodimex - 84.5 thousand tons, the second highest Sucden - 22.6 thousand tons. Among the plants the leader is Uspensky sugar factory (Prodimex) that has exported about 30 thousand tons of white sugar

KYRGYZSTAN

Over the last 5 years (2011-2015) sugar imports decreased by 18%, while the export of sugar was virtually none, according to a market analysis by the Antimonopoly Committee. The volume of sugar production in the total market volume was only 16.7% in 2011 and 34.5% in 2015. The main supplier of sugar with over 35% share of the market is LLC "Belarusian sugar company". In 2013 the volume of sugar production reached a peak of 25 100 tons. The minimum amount of sugar production at 13 300 tons was registered in 2012. Sugar prices are not particularly subject to seasonal fluctuations, in the period analysed the price for 1 kg of sugar ranged from 47.59 soms (minimum - March 2013) to 71.58 soms (maximum - August 2011). According to the National Statistics Committee, sugar is manufactured at the only factory - OJSC "Kaindy Kant" (Chuy Province, Kaindy city). The 3 sugar mill remaining stay idle, in addition the regular importers are only 5 companies.

KAZAKHSTAN

The primary objective for 2017 is the launch of Aksu sugar factory and the production of 30 thousand tons of sugar, Amandyk Batalov, head of the Almaty region, has declared.

UKRAINE

In the 2016/2017 marketing year Ukrainian enterprises produced 2.008 million tons of sugar, which is 40% more than in the previous season, according to a balance of economic discussion club. Taking into account the carry-overs of last season (213 thousand tons) the total offer of domestic sugar in the current marketing year is 2223 thousand tons, while domestic demand at the level of 1.625 million tons. In September-January of current marketing year the domestic sugar consumption was estimated in the amount of 677 000 tons. Import of sugar is virtually none, export for 5 months of the marketing season has reached 409 000 tons against 17 thousand tons in the corresponding period last year. Estimated sugar remainder as of February 1, 2017 is estimated to make 1.136 million tons.

In January 2017 the average price for white sugar from producers was UAH 11564.96 per metric ton (RUR 24317.17/MT at the current rate of the Central Bank of Russian Federation). In December 2016 the average price amounted to UAH 11674.75/MT (RUR 24,548.02/MT), according to Ukrstat.
