RUSSIA
"Moscow Exchange" plans to launch exchange trading of white sugar during the first half of this year. To ensure liquidity it is projected to set up the aggregated delivery basis (EXW) - Southern, Central and Volga federal districts, with the possibility of payment and receipt of the goods on the day of the transaction.

According to Rosstat, the production of white beet sugar in Russia amounted to 5.8 mln MT in 2016. Compared to 2015 the increase in production made 12.4%.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated January 24, 2017, total 45 vessels have been nominated to carry 1488450 mt of raw cane sugar in 2016-2017 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 1294300 mt from 39 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.
UKRAINE
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in December 2016 the average price for white sugar from producers was - UAH 11674.75 per ton (25390.59 RUB/MT at the current rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation). In November 2016 the average price amounted to UAH 11808.62/MT (25,681.74 rubles/MT). Production of white beet sugar amounted to 329 thousand tons in December 2016 (-45.3% vs. the previous month and + 162.2% vs. December 2015). Total volume of refined beet sugar produced in the country has made 1 970 000 tons in 2016 and i comparison to 2015 increase in production volume has reached 34.4%.
