RUSSIA

Sugar factories in Krasnodar region have processed 6 million tons of sugar beet by October 14, 2016, from which 727,000 tons of sugar and 180 thousand tons of dried pulp was produced, according to the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture report dated October 13, 2016, sugar beet was harvested from the area of 623.0 thousand ha or 56.1% of the crop area (in 2015 - 660.9 thousand hectares). Bulk harvest makes 27.6 million tons (in 2015 - 25.0 million tons) with the average yields of 44.26 MT/ha (in 2015 – 37.83 MT/ha).

BELARUS

By October 14, 2016 the country has harvested sugar beet from an area of 54 thousand hectares or 57% of the total crop area (in 2015 - 59 200 hectares), according to Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus. Bulk volume collected has reached 2 262 700 tons (in 2015 - 1.7668 million tons) of beets, with yields of 41.93 MT/ha (in 2015 – 29.87 MT/ha). Sucrose content makes 17.19% average versus 16.96% on the same date last year.

KAZAKHSTAN

The first sugar from 2016 sugar beet harvest was manufactured at the Koksu sugar factory on October 13, 2016, local media reports.

TAJIKISTAN

According to railway cargo monitoring data Sugar.Ru, Tajikistan has received 10 100 tons of white sugar (in 2015 – 9 858 MT) transit Russia by rail in the first 9 months of 2016. The leader country by export volume to Tajikistan is Ukraine (56% of total).
