RUSSIA
According to the figures of price monitoring by Sugar.ru for the period September 22-29, 2016, the dollar exchange rate dropped by 0.8% (from RUR 64.44 on September 22 to RUR 63.95 on September 29, 2016). Moscow ruble price of sugar increased by RUR 3.00/kg (+7.89%), Krasnodar price increased by RUR 5.50/kg (+16.42%). Dollar Moscow the price of sugar increased by $ 0.051/kg (+8.64%), Krasnodar price added $ 0.090/kg (+17.31%).
Over the past week, sugar prices have rallied. Significant price growth was observed in all regions, except for Irkutsk. Last week was a driver to such rally. Prolonged rains have suspended sugar beet harvest in Krasnodar region, sugar manufacture was interrupted at 9 sugar factories. All week long the largest sugar producers, though declaring low prices formally, in fact restrict shipment volumes to 20-40 tons to a single buyer company. Yesterday, on September28, it was possible to buy sugar at RUR 34.50/kg, in the morning, next day (on September 29) offers were at the level of RUR 38.50/kg, but by midday the companies increased the price to RUR 39-40/kg, or declare obviously non-market prices. Nevertheless, until the forecast for the sugar production volume is not revised, we would not expect high sugar prices, and if the weather would please us soon, prices are likely to return to the levels of RUR 35-37/kg.

Russian consumer prices for sugar decreased by 1.4% in September 20-26, 2016, according to Rosstat. From the beginning of September 2016 the consumer prices for sugar decreased by 5.1%, and from the beginning of the year (vs. the end of December 2015) - increased by 4.8%.

According to the analysis of the FCS customs declarations for August 2016, Russia imported 4,1 thousand MT of white sugar from countries outside the Customs Union. Total volume of 8 months of imports of white sugar to Russia has reached 30.7 thousand MT (in 2015 – 36.0 thousand MT, in 2014 – 83.4 thousand MT). In August 2016, Russia exported 0.6 thousand MT of white sugar to countries outside the Customs Union. Total volume of exports from Russia in 8 months has amounted to 1.8 thousand MT (in 2015 – 1.5 thousand MT, in 2014 – 6.7 thousand MT).
UKRAINE
Ukraine has processed 2,276,100 tons of sugar beet; refined beet sugar production has amounted to 318,700 tons from the beginning of the production season and by September 28, 2016, according to "Ukrtsukor".

In August of 2016 the average price for white sugar from producers was UAH 10 975.01 per ton (RUR 27 172.3/MT). In July 2016 the average price was to UAH 10 905.52/MT (RUR 27 000/MT).
KYRGYZSTAN
By September 28, 2016 total 70 thousand tons of sugar beet collected from the area of 1241 hectares and transported to the factory JSC "Kaindy-Kant"; total sugar beet acreage makes 11 thousand hectares.
