RUSSIA
According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated July 26, 2016, total 28 vessels have been nominated to carry 962 650 MT of raw cane sugar in 2016 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 709 150 MT from 21 vessel(s), based on Sugar.ru data.
UKRAINE
The company "Agro-trading company "Agro-Business", a subsidiary of the international company ED&F Man, is threatened by raider seizure of the assets in Ukraine. "We have to state that, despite our efforts and the cooperation of the individual regional officials, the prospects for the legal settlement of the situation looks uncertain now. We address with an open letter asking for help of the representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, the media and the international community," – the statement of ED&F Man runs.
KAZAKHSTAN
In Aktobe (a regional centre in the western part of Kazakhstan) representatives from Antimonopoly Service have warned sugar sellers of liability for price collusion. The price for a kilogram of the commodity is already 251 Tenge/kg in supermarkets "Anwar"; and as high as 259 Tenge/kg in the retail chain supermarkets "Dina".
