According Soyuzrossakhar, the dynamics of sugar beet growth in Russia as of 21.07.2016 looks as follows (average figures):
- beet weight -268 g (2015 -256 g; 2014 - 289 g);
- weight of foliage -303 g (2015 -366 g; 2014 - 370 g);
- sucrose content - 13.07% (2015 - 11.44%; 2014 - 12.81%).

According to the analysis of the FCS customs declarations for June 2016, Russia has imported 3500 tons of white sugar from countries outside the Customs Union. At the end of 6 months the volume of imported white sugar to Russia has made 22.1 thousand tons (in 2015 - 24.7 thousand tons, in 2014 - 51.1 thousand tons). For the period January - June 2016, the main countries to export refined sugar to Russia were Poland (55.15%) and Lithuania (21.62%). The largest importers of white sugar in 6 months of 2016 are the companies "Rostrading" (24.36%) and "Baltoptprodtorg" (20.27%).

In June 2016 Russia has exported 200 tons of white sugar to countries outside the Customs Union. At the end of 6 months, the export of white sugar from Russia has reached 1.0 thousand ton (in 2015 – 0.9 thousand tons, in 2014 – 0.4 thousand tons). The major countries importing sugar from Russia are Mongolia (34.78%) and Abkhazia (26.33%) in the period January-June 2016. The largest exporters of white sugar for 6 months are OAO "Znamensky Sugar Plant – Branch Zherdevsky" (18.99%) and JSC "Valuykisahar" (18.86%).
UKRAINE
Horostkovsky sugar factory in the Ternopol region will resume beet processing this season earn, according to the regional administration.

As of July 22 2016, Ukrainian sugar mills offer sugar at wholesale price of UAH 12.50-12.90/kg (around RUR 32.55-33.85/kg at the current rate of the Central Bank of Russia), informs "Ukrtsukor". For a week the minimum and maximum prices of sugar have decreased by 0.8% and by 1.5% respectively.
