RUSSIA
Imports of sugar from non-CIS countries made US$ 17.3 million in June 2016 (-55.8% to June 2015). Consumer prices for sugar increased by 1.7% from June 28 to July 4, 2016; from the beginning of the year - by +4.7%, according to Rosstat.

According to the monitoring of prices by Sugar.ru in the period from June 30 to July 07, 2016, the exchange value of US dollar has increased by 0.06% in Russia (on June 30 the rate was US$ 1=RUR 64.26; on July 07 the rate was US$ 1=RUR 64.63). Moscow wholesale price of sugar decreased by RUR 0.50/kg (-1.02%); Krasnodar wholesale price of sugar has increased by RUR 0.10/kg (+0.21%). In Moscow US dollar equivalent price of sugar decreased by US$ 0.012/kg (-1.58%), Krasnodar price of sugar dropped by US$ 0.002/kg (-0.27%).
KAZAKHSTAN
In city of Uralsk (Western Kazakhstan) the price of sugar has jumped sharply from 235 to 300 Kazakh Tenge in local stores, only a few kilograms per person are sold, according to local television.

According to the rail cargo monitoring by Sugar.Ru, Kazakhstan has received 11,800 MT of white sugar by rail transit Russia in June 2016 (in June 2015 - 21,100 MT) Total volume of sugar imported in 6 months of 2016 has made 41 000 MT vs. to 110.600 MT last year. Shipments of sugar from Moldova and Belarus have virtually stopped in 2016; the supply of Ukrainian and Romanian sugar has increased.
