"The Seventh Continent", one of the largest retailers in Russia, is facing financial problems with suppliers. In particular, "RusAgro" has drawn a claim to recover total RUR 15.3 million; confectionery factory "Victory" – total RUR 4.1 million.

Krasnodar-based concern "Pokrovsky" has acquired the Kurganinsky sugar factory, as well as 3.2 thousand hectares of arable land from "Razgulyay".

Consumer prices for sugar have increased by 0.4% from June 15 to 20, 2016; from the beginning of the year – by 2.6%, according to Rosstat.

According to the data of price monitoring by Sugar.ru for the period from June 16 to 23, 2016; the US dollar exchange rate dropped by-3.4% (on June 16 the rate was RUR 65.92/US$; on June 23 RUR 63.72/US$). Nevertheless, sugar prices continue to grow in all regions of Russia. Moscow ruble price of sugar rose by RUR 1.70/kg (+3.69%), Krasnodar price has added RUR 1.60/kg (+3.58%). US dollar equivalent Moscow price of sugar increased by US$ 0.051/kg (+7.30%), Krasnodar price added US$ 0.049/kg (+7.23%).
UKRAINE
According to State Statistics Service, the country has produced 14,900 tons of sugar confectionery not containing cocoa in May 2016. Production volume from the beginning of the year has reached 70.5 thousand tons (in 5 months of 2015 – 80.2 thousand tons).

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Board approved the allocation of up to $ 20 million long-term loan for the modernization, improvement of energy efficiency and improvement of the environment of sugar factories to agro-holding "Astarta".
KAZAKHSTAN
The modernization of Koksu sugar factory will enjoy about one billion of Kazakh Tenge from own funds. Last year the plant has received 120 thousand tons of sugar beet and produced 12 thousand tons of sugar. This year, the plant plans to process up to 220 thousand tons of sugar beet and, thereby, produce over 25 thousand tons of refined sugar.
