RUSSIA

Sugar factories in Bashkiria have started to accept sugar beet. Following the modernization scheduled for the next 4 years, they should increase the processing capacity on beet up to 9 thousand tons per day (currently - 8 thousand tons), writes the regional press.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of September 3, 2020, sugar beets were harvested from 65.4 thousand hectares or 7.1% of the area sown; 2.5 million tons collected; average yield makes 38.38 MT/ha.

In the Lipetsk region, farmers began harvesting sugar beets in the beet-growing area of the Yeletsk sugar factory. The start-up of another two sugar factories (Borinsky and Khmelinetsky) is scheduled for September 5. In accordance with the operational schedule, all sugar beet processing enterprises in the region will be launched by September 15th. It is planned to process over 4.8 million tons of beet total in the season. The processing plants of the Krasnodar Territory have received 1.9 million tons of sugar beet and produced 220 thousand tons of sugar.

BELARUS

On September 3, 2020, the Belarusian Railways (BZD) started transportation of sugar beet to the Slutsk Sugar Refinery JSC. This year, the Belarusian Railways will transport beet harvest to the Gorodeisky, Slutsky and Zhabinkovsky sugar factories. In, it is planned to transport by rail about 1.6 million tons of sugar beet harvested this year.
