RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of April 28, 2020, sugar beet was sown in Russia on an area of 651.4 thousand ha, or 68.9% of the projected aсreaпу. In the Tambov region sowing campaign was carried out on 67 thousand hectares by April 27, 2020 (71% of the plan)
UKRAINE
As of April 23, 2020, total 199.8 thousand ha were sown with sugar beets, or 96% of the forecast (209 thousand ha). The five leading sugar beet sowing regions include:
- Vinnitsa region - 43.86 thousand ha;
- Khmelnitsky region - 33.93 thousand ha;
- Poltava region - 26.9 thousand ha;
- Kiev region - 21.7 thousand ha;
- Ternopol region - 21.26 thousand ha.
