This year, taking into account the higher pace, sugar beet harvesting may be completed by November 20, (last season – by November 26). As of October 31, 2019, the area of 148 thousand ha or 13% of the crop acreage remains for harvesting, Soyuzrossahar reports. To date, about 46.0 million tons of sugar beets have been collected (last year – 38.5 million tons). Gross sugar beet harvest for the 2019/20 season estimated at 52.0 million tons, up 23.8% from previous season. According to current information, 3.87 million tons of beet sugar has been produced to date, which is 350 thousand tons higher than last year.


According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of October 31, 2019, sugar beets were harvested from an area of 996.8 thousand ha, or 87.1% of the area sown; total 45.9 million tons of beet collected (38.1 million tons in 2018) with a yield of 46.08 MT/ha (in 2018 – 36.84 MT/ha).


As of October 31, 2019, 5.66 million tons of beets were processed and 830.3 thousand tons of sugar produced, Ukrtsukor reports.


By November 1, 2019, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 82.8 thousand hectares or 88.8% of the area sown (in 2018 - 89.7 thousand hectares), Sugar.Ru was informed in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus. About 4152.8 thousand MT (in 2018 - 4216.2 thousand MT) of beets were collected, with an average yield of 50.18 MT/ha (in 2018 – 47.01 MT/ha). The sugar content in beet in the republic is 16.8% versus 16.93% for the same date last year.


The duty on import of raw sugar to the Customs Union remains at $ 250/MT in November 2019. The average monthly price for raw sugar at the ICE stock exchange was $ 274,67/MT in October 2019, respectively, the import duty in December 2019 will remain at the level - $ 250/MT.
