According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of October 28, 2019, sugar beets were harvested from an area of 924.4 thousand hectares or 80.7% of the area sown, 42.2 million tons were collected (in 2018 - 36.4 million tons) with a yield of 45.62 MT/ha (in 2018 – 36.44 MT/ha).


According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated October 29, 2019, total 13 vessels have been nominated to carry 400250 MT of raw cane sugar in 2019 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 400250 MT from 13 vessels, based on data.


As of October 28, 2019, total 5.25 million tons of beets were processed and 768.2 thousand tons of sugar were produced, Ukrtsukor reports.


According to the analytical service of the Eurasian Sugar Association, starting in early 2016, a volume of 1.7 million tons of refined and raw sugar was imported into the EAEU from third countries in the framework of the benefits and exemptions from the ETT EAEU (Unified Customs Tariff), including 1.3 million tons of raw sugar and 400 thousand tons of refined sugar.

Of the five countries – members of the EAEU, only Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia practice preferences for the import of raw sugar. For three years, these countries imported over 1.1 million tons of raw sugar (Kazakhstan - 910 thousand tons, Armenia - 207 thousand tons, Kyrgyzstan - 12 thousand tons). Over three years, the import of white sugar into the EAEU countries amounted to about 400 thousand tons (Russia - 180 thousand tons, Kazakhstan - 144 thousand tons, Armenia - 25 thousand tons, Kyrgyzstan - 40 thousand tons and Belarus - 5 thousand tons).


By October 29, 2019, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 78.1 thousand hectares or 83.9% of the area sown (in 2018 - 84.8 thousand hectares), Sugar.Ru was informed in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus. About 3868.7 thousand MT (in 2018 - 3949.6 thousand MT) of beets were collected, with an average yield of 49.51 MT/ha (in 2018 – 46.58 MT/ha). The sugar content in beet in the republic is 16.77% versus 16.88% for the same date last year.


According to Soyuzrossahar, the processing of sugar beets of the new crop will be carried out by three sugar plants - Koksu, Merkensky and Aksu in the Republic of Kazakhstan. A total of 270 thousand tons of sugar beets were harvested, of which 80 thousand tons were processed and about 9.0 thousand tons of white sugar were produced. It is expected to procure and process 400-450 thousand tons of sugar beets and produce about 45.0-50.0 thousand tons of beet sugar at 3 sugar factories this season.
