UKRAINE

By October 17, 2019 an area of 123 thousand hectares of sugar beet was harvested; 5 398 thousand tons of beet collected. In 2019 season farmers intend to harvest total acreage of 220 thousand ha of sugar beets. The average field yield is 44.0 MT/ha against 48.3 MT/ha in 2018. As of October 17 a volume of 3.73 million tons of beets was processed and 537.0 thousand tons of sugar produced, Ukrtsukor reports.

EAEU

The Eurasian Economic Commission (ECE) recommended that the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union - Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan - consider the possibility of "setting a minimum price for sugar" a mark of the level at the production of sugar is profitable.

BELARUS

By October 18, 2019, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 61.8 thousand hectares or 66.3% of the area sown (in 2018 - 64.3 thousand hectares), Sugar.Ru was informed in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus. About 2973.2 thousand MT (in 2018 - 2904.5 thousand MT) of beets were collected, with an average yield of 48.11 MT/ha (in 2018 – 45.16 MT/ha). The sugar content in beet in the republic is 16.67% versus 16.68% for the same date last year.
