RUSSIA

An area of 33.8 thousand ha was harvested in Tatarstan (53% of crop acreage) by October 5, 2019. Over 1 million 464 thousand tons of beet collected. Average field yield makes 43.3 MT/ha (+8.5 MT/ha versus 2018). Tatarstan sugar factories have already produced 74.2 thousand tons of sugar.

According to the analysis of customs declarations of FCS conducted by Sugar.ru, in August 2019 Russia has exported 48.1 thousand tons of beet pulp. According to the results of 8 months of beet pulp export campaign, Russia has shipped out 441.2 thousand tons (in 2018 - 539.1 thousand MT; in 2017 - 360.6 thousand MT).

UKRAINE

Ukrainian farmers have harvested of 63 thousand ha of sugar beet (28% of the forecast) by October 4, 2019, and collected 2.7 million tons of beets with average yield of 43.1 MT/ha, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

BELARUS

By October 7, 2019, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 44 thousand hectares or 46.9% of the area sown (in 2018 - 44 thousand hectares), Sugar.Ru was informed in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus. About 2034 thousand MT (in 2018 - 1913.1 thousand MT) of beets were collected, with an average yield of 46.25 MT/ha (in 2018 – 43.43 MT/ha). The sugar content in beet in the republic is 16.52% versus 16.44% for the same date last year.

GEORGIA

According to the analysis of data by National Statistics Office of Georgia, conducted by Sugar.Ru, in August 2019 the import of sugar (white and raw) (HS code 1701) has made $7.6 million ($6.5 million in 2018). Totally in for January - August 2019 Georgia imported sugar (white and raw) for $23.7 million ($43.2 million in 2018).
