RUSSIA

According to "Soyuzrossahar", more than 2.0 million tons of sugar produced from beet harvested in 2019, as of October 1. 200 thousand tons less were produced last year, as of the same date. 505 thousand ha were harvested (44.2% of the cultivated area), beets yield amounted to 43.3 MT/ha (in 2018 – 35.5 MT/ha). Taking into account the above-mentioned volumes and sugar produced from molasses, the expected total sugar production in the season 2019-2020 could amount to about 6500 thousand tons, which is similar to the production in season 2017-2018.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, as of October 1, 2019, sugar beets were harvested from an area of 502.9 thousand ha or 43.9% of the crop acreage, 22 million tons of beet collected (in 2018 – 18.9 million tons) at the average yield of 43.78 MT/ha (in 2018 – 35.51 MT/ha).

UKRAINE

As of October 1, 2019, a total volume of 1720.2 thousand tons of beets was processed and 235.1 thousand tons of sugar produced, Ukrtsukor reports.

AZERBAIJAN

In 2019, in Azerbaijan an area of about 7.346 thousand hectares were sowed by sugar beet - less by 14.5%, compared to 2018. Last year, 299.4 thousand tons of beets were produced in the country, and the average yield was 34.98 MT/ha. For seven months of this year 5.4 thousand tons of sugar beet were harvested in the country. Currently, the harvest continues, according to the Ministry of agriculture.

BELARUS

October 2, 2019, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 36.7 thousand hectares or 39.1% of the area sown (in 2018 - 35.8 thousand hectares), Sugar.Ru was informed in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus. About 1689.9 thousand MT (in 2018 - 1544.5 thousand MT) of beets were collected, with an average yield of 46.07 MT/ha (in 2018 – 43.17 MT/ha). The beet sugar content in the republic is 16.47% versus 16.37% for the same date last year.
