RUSSIA

Sugar imports from non-CIS countries amounted to 18.5 million US dollars in August 2019. At the same time, the value of sugar import in June on an annualized basis (by August 2018) fell by 12.6%, according to the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (Probably, the Federal Customs Service includes import of Belarusian sugar in the total volume of import from foreign countries – Sugar.Ru).

As of September 5, 2019, sugar beets were harvested from an area of 161.3 thousand ha or 14.1% of the crop acreage (in 2018 - 143.2 thousand ha), 6.9 million tons of beets collected (in 2018 - 4.9 million tons) at an average yield of 42.92 MT/ha (in 2018 – 34.22 MT/ha).

ARMENIA

According to the analysis of Statkom of Armenia, conducted by Sugar.Ru, production of sugar decreased over the month by 40.32% in July 2019 and has made 11.7 thousand tons (in previous month - 19.6 thousand tons, in July 2018 - 21.2 thousand tons, in July 2017 - 0.0 thousand tons). Total 45 thousand tons of sugar have been produced in January-July 2019 (in January-July 2018 - 53 thousand tons).

According to the analysis of data by Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, conducted by Sugar.Ru, in July 2019 the import of sugar (white and raw) (HS code 1701) has made 9 199 MT (8 978 MT in 2018). Totally in January - July 2019 Armenia imported 41 909 MT of sugar (white and raw) (45 710 MT in 2018).

In July 2019 the export of sugar (white and raw) (HS code 1701) has made 0 MT (0 MT in 2018). Totally in January - July 2019 Armenia imported 0 MT of sugar (white and raw) (0 MT in 2018).
