RUSSIA

Soyuzrossahar reports, the national sugar beet acreages have stabilized at 1.1 - 1.2 million ha, sugar production yields increased from 5 tons from hectare in 2014 to 5.5 in 2018. Beet sugar production grew by 34% from 4.6 million tons in 2014 to 6.17 million tons in the year of 2018. Sugar consumption in the country ranges at 5.75-5.80 million tons per year, and since 2017, Russia has become a significant exporter of sugar not only to the CIS countries, but to the world market. In 2018 season Russia exported 2.35 million tons of beet and sugar products for the total value of US 371 million. This is 95% more than in 2015, in commodities’ terms and 177% in terms of USD revenue.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, farmers in Krasnodar region began to harvest sugar beets. As of August 1, 2019, total acreage harvested has made 3 thousand hectares, 128 thousand tons of sugar beets collected with an average yield of 42.67 MT/ha.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the Statkom of the Republic of Kazakhstan, consumer sugar prices decreased by 1.6% in July 2019 compared to the previous month, and year on year (by July 2018) - increased by 5.7%.
