UKRAINE
On July 16, 2019 an auction was held for the sale of sugar from the warehouses of the GSBU Agrarian Fund; with total 24.8 thousand tons of sugar sold at a selling price of UAH 900 / t (2,230.4 rubles), while the wholesale market price for sugar in 2018/2019 ranges 12-13 thousand UAH/MT (RUR 29.73-32.21 thousand). "Ukrtsukor" has addressed to law enforcement bodies to pay attention to the situation. In addition, 4.5 thousand tons of sugar with the expiration date in 2014 were sold at another six auctions held in May; the price was UAH 1 500/MT (3.71 thousand rubles per metric ton). According to NASU “Ukrtsukor”, sugar sold at the market has prices 5-6 times higher than the auction price.
