RUSSIA
Last year, the average profit margin of agricultural organizations, including subsidies, was 12.5% - higher by 0.5% than in 2017, but lower by 2.5% than the planned value, according to the report of the Ministry of agriculture. In last year sugar beet with 27.6% was in the second place in terms of profit margin, after sunflower, which is more than twice the level of 2017. The prices for it also increased: if in August 2017 they amounted to 2.1 thousand RUR/ton, then at the same time a year later - 2.3 thousand RUR/ton. In December last year, farmers sold beets more expensive than 3 thousand RUR/ton, while in December 2017, they sold 2.1 thousand RUR/ton, according to the Rosstat data.

The Ministry of Agriculture forecasts that the harvest of sugar beet will amount to 40.1 million tons in this year (4.8% less than in 2018).
UKRAINE
In June of the current marketing year (MY), Ukrainian producers has exported 24.8 thousand tons of sugar, which is 40% less than in May, reports Ukrtsukor. In total for 10 months of 2018/2019 MY were exported 403.0 thousand tons of sugar, which is almost 20% less than in the same period of last year.
