RUSSIA
Total 430 varieties, hybrids and parental components of sugar beet were included in the State Register of breeding achievements approved for use in the Russian Federation, reports the State Commission of the Russian Federation on Testing and Protecting Breeding Achievements.
The proportion is as follows:
- Russian breeding – 88 total, including 70 hybrids, 3 varieties and 15 parental components.
- Foreign breeding - 342 hybrids and parental components.
UKRAINE
The profitability of sugar beet production in agricultural enterprises amounted to 11.4% in 2018 (in 2017 – 12.4%, in 2016 – 24.3%), the State Statistics Committee reports.
