RUSSIA

As of November 1, over 4.1 million tons of sugar beet were harvested in Lipetsk region; 2.5 million tons of crops processed and 400 thousand tons of sugar produced at six sugar factories in the region.

According to Sugar.Ru railway monitoring data, in January-October 2018 Russia imported 204 947 MT of sugar. The largest exporting countries to Russia were Belarus (96.10%) and Lithuania (3.53%). Russian exports amounted to 282 939 MT, the main countries receiving sugar were Kazakhstan (49.34%) and Uzbekistan (39.24%). Domestic shipments amounted to 1 228 534 MT, the largest volume of shipments was made by Cheremnovsky (5.35%) and Kirsanovsky (Kristall) (4.16%) sugar plants. The total transit of sugar by rail through the territory of Russia was 424 961 MT.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the analysis of data of the Bureau of national statistics of Kazakhstan, conducted by Sugar.Ru, in 9 months (January-September) of 2018 the trade balance with countries outside the CU is as follows: imports of raw sugar (HS code 170114) amounted to 131.23 thousand MT (101 thousand MT from Brazil, the rest from Cuba). Imports of white sugar amounted to 12.21 thousand tons, mainly from Poland and the Netherlands. Exports of white sugar outside the CU are significantly higher than imports - 18.3 thousand tons, almost all of them to Uzbekistan.

ARMENIA

In January-September 2018 Armenia imported 47 thousand tons of sugar and raw sugar (HS code 1701) for total $ 18.5 million and 1231 tons for other sugars (HS code 1702) for total $ 682 thousand, Sugar.Ru was told by  the National Statistical Service of Armenia.
