RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of October 29, 2018, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 1013.55 thousand hectares or 91.4% of the area sown (in 2017 – 991.83 thousand hectares). Bulk harvest of 37.1 million tons was collected (in 2017 – 42.16 million tons), with average yield of 36.61 MT/ha (in 2017 – 42.51 MT/ha).

MOLDOVA

The average season yield of sugar beet has made 40.8 MT/ha by October 1, 2018, an increase by 36.6% compared to the level of 2017, according to the National Statistics Service.

UZBEKISTAN

From 1 January 2019, restrictions on the export of certain types of goods, including sugar, will be lifted. Licensing of wholesale and street trading has been abolished.

BELARUS

By October 31, 2018, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 88.2 thousand hectares or 88.8% of the area sown (in 2017 - 82 thousand hectares), Sugar.Ru was informed in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus. About 4135.2 thousand MT (in 2017 - 3973.4 thousand MT) of beets were collected, with an average yield of 46.88 MT/ha (in 2017 – 48.46 MT/ha). The beet sugar content in the republic is 1882% versus 1858.3% for the same date last year. 

UKRAINE

As of October 30, 2018, 40 sugar factories were operating, 6.89 million tons of beets processed and 895.8 thousand tons of sugar produced, reports Ukrtsukor.
