RUSSIA

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated October 16, 2018, total 11 vessels have been nominated to carry 408894 MT of raw cane sugar in 2018 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 368894 MT from 10 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of October 15, 2018, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 792.4 thousand hectares or 71.5% of the crop acreage (in 2017 - 792.9 thousand hectares). The beet growers of the Altai Territory completed harvesting sugar beet: more than 870 thousand tons of crops were harvested with an average yield of 37.6 MT/ha. According to Soyuzrossahar, by October 15, total 799.3 thousand hectares were harvested. (71.0% of the crop area) with an average yield of 35.5 MT/ha.

MOLDOVA

The Competition Council has decided to exclude support measures for the import of quota sugar made out of sugar beet, writes the local press.

KAZAKHSTAN

In the first half of October 2018, Merkensky sugar factory was launched, and by the end of the year it is planned to produce about 17 thousand tons of sugar. In November Taraz Sugar Refinery plans to resume the import of duty-free cane raw under contracts with a deferment of payment.
