RUSSIA
According to Sugar.ru price monitoring data for the period from 14.06.2018 to 21.06.2018 the US dollar rate increased by 0.8% (on 14.06 - RUR 63.12/$, on 21.06 - RUR 63.62/$). Ruble Moscow wholesale price for sugar dropped by 0.40 RUR/kg (-1.17%), Krasnodar wholesale price dropped by 0.50 RUR/kg (-1.54%). US dollar Moscow wholesale price for sugar dropped by $0.011 /kg (-2.03%), Krasnodar wholesale price dropped by $0.012 /kg (-2.33%).
Last week has not brought changes to the situation in the sugar market, the real price for large wholesale lots remained around 32 rubles per kilogram for self-pickup and by rail. The situation with "official prices" can be characterized as "Dutch concert", when many companies call completely different prices, but actually sell much cheaper. The situation is aggravated by the problem with railway wagons, RZD (the Russian Railways), following good traditions of slow dancing, explains the long delay with the delivery of empty railcars by the ongoing World Cup and congestion of railway trucks with train with fans, although the deterioration is being observed for a year now.
Not the most pleasant (or just the opposite - depending on the beholder) news come from sugar beet fields. If in the south of Russia it’s a drought added by lack of moisture in soil, in the central part, on the contrary, cold nights do not allow sugar beet to gain weight. It is too early to make final estimates, but we continue to mark our provisional estimation of sugar production of sugar in the new season at 6.20-6.25 million tons. Two steamships with raw sugar destined for Kazakhstan continue to roam on roads in the port of Novorossiysk awaiting payment, which means that an additional quantity of Russian sugar will go to Kazakhstan, and the situation in the 2018/19 season will be easier than in the current one. Rusasgro will launch new lines of sugarless desalinization of molasses only in a season, nevertheless the market needs to potentially prepare for an additional 80 thousand tons of sugar with a low cost.

Export of sugar by rail continues to be low, for 10 days of June only 10 thousand tons have been exported, transit of Belarusian and Ukrainian sugar by Russian railways declines as well. In 20 days of June Belarus has delivered 7 thousand tons (in May - 19.9 thousand tons), Ukraine - 29 thousand tons (in May - 49 thousand tons).
Georgia
According to the analysis of data by National Statistics Office of Georgia, conducted by Sugar.Ru, in May 2018 the import of white sugar (HS code 170199) has made $2.4 million ($3.8 million in 2017). Total value of white sugar imports in January - May 2018 by Georgia have made $14.1 million ($12.0 million in 2017). Export of white sugar in January - May 2018 has made $0.0, total for 5 months 2018 - $106.8 (in 2017 - $0.0).
AZERBAIJAN
According to the figures by the customs service of Azerbaijan, processed by Sugar.Ru, in May 2018 the export of sugar amounted to 4.0 thousand tons, in just 5 months of 2018 - 16.1 thousand tons (in 2017 - 32.6 thousand tons) . Imports of sugar and raw sugar in May amounted to 2.7 thousand tons; in January-May 2018 - 21.8 thousand tons (in 2017 - 125.1 thousand tons).
