RUSSIA

According to the analysis of customs declarations of FCS conducted by Sugar.ru, Russia has imported 3.1 thousand tons of pulp in January 2018. According to the results of 1 months of pulp import campaign, Russia has shipped in 3.1 thousand tons (in 2017 - 4.1 thousand MT; in 2016 - 2.4 thousand MT). In January the main countries exporters of pulp to Russia were CHINA (71.39%) and SLOVAKIA (15.35%).

In January 2018 Russia has exported 7.1 thousand tons of pulp. According to the results of 1 months of pulp export campaign, Russia has shipped out 7.1 thousand tons (in 2017 - 11.9 thousand MT; in 2016 - 4.1 thousand MT). In January the main countries importers of pulp from Russia were TURKEY (91.88%) and LITHUANIA (4.57%).

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, consumer sugar prices in Russia increased by 0.1% from March 6 to 12, 2018, since early March, increased by 0.2%, and since the beginning of the year (by the end of December 2017) - decreased by 1.3%

KAZAKHSTAN

A volume of 12 billion tenge (2.12 billion rubles) will be invested in the next two years in the modernization of the Aksu sugar plant. Last year the enterprise processed 70 thousand tons of beets.

UKRAINE

The season of sugar beet processing of 2017 harvest was completed in February 2018. According to the National sugar Association "Ukrtsukor", 2.14 million tons of sugar were produced in current season (+6.5% by 2017). Taking into account the carryover stocks, the total supply of sugar in the 2017/2018 marketing period is 2.4 million tons. According to customs statistics, in the first half of the season, 290,000 tons of sugar were exported (-1.8 compared to September-February 2016/2017).

According to Statkom, the average consumer price of sugar in Ukraine in February 2018 was UAH 15.47/kg (33.91 rubles/kg at the current rate of the Central Bank).
